There is a new nursing home facility being added to Florida’s watch list. The Woods at Manatee Springs is a bay area home that is now going to be watch closely for the next 30 months. The facility “earned” this dishonorable addition after an incident where a resident fell in his room and fractured his shoulder. The administrator of the home, claimed in a report that an aide found the resident in a matter of minutes after the fall, however, according to the official inspection report, the resident was not taken to the hospital until nine hours later. The nursing home did not meet the minimum standards of care at time of inspection, the nursing home responded indicating they would appeal the decision, a typical response of not accepting responsibility.
